Cynthia Ann Crawford, born February 20, 1966, is an American model, actress and TV host. In the 1980s and 90s she was a renowned supermodel and was a regular on magazines and runways, and also in fashion shows. In the following years, she started acting and started a business. When she was in her sophomore year at high school, she received an inquiry from a local clothing store regarding modeling work which she later discovered was a prank played by two of her fellow classmates. Crawford was hired by another store the following year to model for them. The store also hosted a fashion shoot. Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford during her junior year to photograph her. The project included an interview with Crawford to be published in the magazine. The image and positive feedback received from her were enough to make her want to pursue modeling. At first, she was a part of an agency with a small size. It was acquired by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. In 1983, she participated in Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the finals at national level.
